Stephen Colbert issued a “rare and historic” apology to the gays for taking a (sardonic) hardline against homosexaulity after scientists discovered that billions of insects are “accidentally” having gay sex. Admitting that “humans are just like insects,” Colbert chalks up homosexuality to plain, old “same-sex attrackcidents.”

I find his humor troubling. He makes a joke and one could think either he is just being funny or he is being serious and hiding it by being funny but like an arrogant conservative. This alter-ego of his although is entertaining, can hurt if seen in the wrong light. That is why he was invited once to the Republican convention, for they took him at his word.
