WATCH: TheFour’s Final Marriage Equality Video Lands In Maryland

The final video in The Four 2012‘s four-part Marriage for All Families series takes us to Maryland where we meet Angela and Liz and their 11-month-old son Mekhi. The couple have been together for over six years and had a commitment ceremony in Maryland. Because they knew a marriage certificate would be important if and when they had a child, Liz and Angela got legally married in Boston.

“We’re not asking for anything crazy,” Liz says. “All we want is to be able to know that if Angela ever got sick that I wouldn’t have to be scurrying around getting legal documents together so that I could see her in the hospital. Or that my son wouldn’t be taken away from me. In the back of your head you’re nervous that you’re not protected like everyone else.”
