This weekend, CNN anchorman Don Lemon got engaged to his now-fiancé, real estate agent Tim Malone. Also designer Marc Jacobs married candlemaker Char Defrancesco in a New York City ceremony. Let’s celebrate by taking a quick peek at each one’s happy, romantic backstories.
Lemon revealed his engagement on Instagram. The marriage proposal itself was engraved on bowtie-shaped dog tags that were placed onto the collars of their puppies, Boomer and Barkley. The engraving read, “Daddy will you marry papa?”

Last year, Lemon told Metrosource that the couple met at a Hamptons-area restaurant after Malone had broken up with someone. Lemon and Malone had already been friends for over a year before they began dating. The two shared an on-air kiss during CNN’s live New Year’s Eve broadcast last year.

As for Jacobs, he got married on Saturday at a gathering attended by luminaries such as Anna Wintour, Frank Ocean, Bette Midler, Kate Moss, Debbie Harry, Rachel Zoe, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Mya, Lil’ Kim, Naomi Campbell, Rita Ora, Chloe Sevigny, and Drag Race queens Manila Luzon, Miss Fame, and Detox, according to Towleroad.
During their ceremony, Jacobs and Defrancesco wore “Art Deco diamond and onyx Penguin pins.” Jacobs wrote on Instagram, “Penguins have only one partner and mate for life. A great example of faithfulness and fidelity.”
As a thank you gift, wedding guests received a sweatshirt embroidered with the image of two otters holding hands and the words, “Don’t Float Away,” a reference to the fact that otters hold hands when sleeping in streams to help anchor each other so they aren’t carried away by the current.
Jacobs proposed to Defrancesco last April in a Manhattan Chipotle. After a flash mob danced to Prince’s song “Kiss,” Jacobs got down on one knee and proposed —Defrancesco accepted. Jacobs is a 55-year-old fashion designer and Defrancesco is a candlemaker and former model.

Gee how about if you provide the full quote. Lemon said: “I said that the biggest terror threat in this country comes from radicals on the far right, primarily white men. That angered some people. But let’s put emotion aside and look at the cold hard facts. The evidence is overwhelming.” Is he wrong umm NO.

Wrong. The original quote was what I posted. Lemon had to clarify on another episode of his program after people were threatening his advertisers. Thus, he mad a different statement to save face. You even allude to that in the later quote. He never originally said only radicals or only right wingers or only terrorists. He said “The biggest threat to our country are white men”

Also wrong and misleading. The FBI director said that all acts of terror are pervasive. Last year the amount of death attributed to white supremacist groups was 50. The CDC estimates 80,000 people died from the flu last year, 2000 people die a year from traffic lights, 150 people die a year from falling coconuts, 6000 people die a year from falling.
So when Don Lemon says the greatest threat to our country is “white men” he is wrong because the data doesn’t support it.

He is not a journalist, Interesting since he majored in broadcast journalism at Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York, and attended Louisiana State University. While in college, Lemon worked as a news assistant at WNYW in New York City.
Early in his career, Lemon reported as a weekend anchor for WBRC in Birmingham, Alabama, and WCAU in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as well as an anchor and investigative reporter for KTVI St. Louis.
Lemon reported for NBC News’ New York City operations, including working as a correspondent for Today and NBC Nightly News and an anchor on Weekend Today and MSNBC. In 2003, he began at NBC owned-and-operated station WMAQ-TV (5 in Chicago), and was a reporter as well as local news co-anchor.
Lemon joined CNN in September 2006. He has been outspoken in his work at CNN, criticizing the state of cable news and questioning the network publicly. He has also voiced strong opinions on ways that the African-American community can improve themselves, which has caused some controversy. Since 2014, he has hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve special from New Orleans.
In a much-reported broadcast in January 2018, Lemon introduced his broadcast with, “This is CNN Tonight, I’m Don Lemon. The President of the United States is racist.”

Pointing out racism doesn’t make you a racist. There’s no contradiction in his relationship because he clearly doesn’t assume all white men are the enemy. The confusion illustrated in these posts suggest some aren’t able to see the irony in expecting Don Lemon to reject ALL white men when his love of a white man demonstrates the distinction between making irrational assumptions vs. open-minded communication.
