The Weinstein Brothers are not about cross-promotion.
The powerful titans are publishing Tim Gunn’s new book, but have forbidden him from mentioning his Bravo show, Project Runway. Says Page Six:
According to Gunn, Weinstein’s legal sharks threatened to file an injunction against his publisher, Abrams Image, if he mentioned Runway in Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste and Style.” “There were two references to the show in my book,” Gunn told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. “Then it was in my bio in the book, and it was on the cover flap. It all had to be removed.”
The Weinstein’s self-named company, however, says Gunn misunderstood, “..This seems like a game of ‘telephone’ gone awry. The Weinstein Co. never prevented Tim’s publisher from referencing Project Runway in the book.”
Regardless, the snafu’s getting the book press. And that’s the name of the game.
How about we take this to the next level?
