It’s a pity that the role of Attorney General is so poltical. In Ireland the Attorney General is appointed by the Taoiseach (Prime Minister) and is therefore very apolitical. People elect politicians to represent them. Attorney Generals should just enforce the law as it is and clarify ambiguities in the law.
