UPDATE: Wendy Williams fights back tears apologizing to LGBTQ viewers
Gender-fluid fashion has become a staple on red carpets thanks to daring looks from the likes of Billy Porter and Jonathan Van Ness, but Wendy Williams apparently wants it to stop.
The talk show host has come under fire (once again) for one of her patented hot takes, this time opposing the trend of men exploring traditionally female styles.
Speaking to her audience about ‘Galentine’s Day’, the Valentine’s alternative from Parks & Recreation where a group of women celebrates one another’s friendship instead of romantic pairings, Williams went a bit off-topic when men applauded.

“If you’re a man and you’re clapping, you’re not even a part of this. You don’t understand the rules of the day. It’s women going out and getting saucy and then going home. You’re not a part,” she said.
“I don’t care if you’re gay. You don’t get a [menstruation] every 28 days,” Williams continued. “You can do a lot that we do, but I get offended by the idea that we go through something you will never go through.”
“And stop wearing our skirts and our heels,” she added. “Just saying, girls, what do we have for ourselves?”
“Looky here now, gay men, you’ll never be the women that we are,” Williams said. “No matter how gay.”
The comments were met with immediate criticism:

I think that was uncalled for. I don’t think any of those men were trying to “takeover” her Galantines Day message; certainly not by applauding. This reeks of some insecurity on her part. For someone so concerned about aspects of feminine identity be co-opted by others; she sure cozies up to the gays quite a bit. She’s yet another example of an age-old phrase “Everyone that smiles at you is not your friend.” Maybe we should be a LOT more selective of who we let in our spaces and community.
I bet she’d be among the loudest critics if most gay bars everywhere started adopting “gay men only” policies. But why Wendy, can’t we have anything to ourselves??

That said, you’d think she’d be more aware of stuff like this, remember when RuPauls Drag Race first came to VH1 she hosted the little snippets between commercials and was cancelled after 2 episodes because people dug up her anti-trans comments. Hard to believe Windy Williams is single after all these years. Really who knew, much less, who cares. I’ve seen he show a couple of times, needed the noise, saw a few minutes of it, the theme ‘hot topics’ oh wait, that’s the ‘view’ another waste of time talking about anything ‘non ultra liberal’ aka conservative , the ‘view’s’ latest rant Donald Trump etc. As for Wendy Williams, the theme’s pretty much the same, only it’s more varied. Bottom line, who cares.? And they took the Jerry Springer Show off the air for this. At least with the Jerry Springer Show the fools on his show were on the loony and idiotic side. It was an interesting diversion making people thank God they’re normal and nothing like these idiots.

I’m not a regular watcher of Wendy W, as she’s so full of herself, but I’ve been watching her in clips and short bursts on TV, as well as her various recent foot-in-mouth faux paux in the last months. I have to say I’ve definitely noticed that she seems to be “losing it.” Look at her and into her eyes as she speaks—- there is that distant look that mentally disturbed people have. I seriously think she’s heading for some type of meltdown. She’s just getting more and more out-of-control.

I could talk about her drug addiction and her hypocrisy in her marriage, but I’m not going to go there. Instead, I’ll just say that she should applaud that men are celebrating Galentines’ Day, instead of lashing out. @WendyWilliams I do hope that you don’t wear slacks, male clothing even styled for women cause that really would be a double standard. But to quote another woman, “It suits the wearer, not the viewer.” As a woman, you certainly should appreciate that people male or female dressing for themselves and not for others.
