“West Wing” Star Bradley Whitford Goes Gay In New Season Of Showtime’s Shameless

Bradley Whitford recently made an appearance along with his West Wing co-stars in a PSA for down-ticket elections, but the actor won’t be playing boyishly charming White House aide Josh Lyman in his next role: A gay political activist who pops up in the upcoming third season of Showtime’s Shameless.

EW reports it’s “unclear” how Whitford’s character, Abraham, will interact with the rowdy Gallagher clan, but rumor has it he will play the boss of Fiona (Emma Rossum). Given how Fiona’s gay brother, Ian (Cameron Monaghan), has a penchant for inappropriate trysts with older men, we’re thinking might see him in the clinch with this classy character.

Catch the Shameless season premieres on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 9pm on Showtime.
