These are some of the most commonly-used phrases on dating apps like Grindr and SCRUFF. Of course, most gay men already know what they mean. We invented the language ourselves, after all. But for those of you who may not be so hip to the jive, the folks at Buzzfeed have put together this amusing tutorial decoding their meanings.

I like the Craigslist ads best. People include a hot looking guy in the pic, but somehow it does NOT match the description that well.
Reading the details they reveal the pic is what they actually *desire*.
So the pic is a 20-something, handsome, hung, atheletic guy. But the description is a balding, overweight, middle-aged closet case.
Yeah, I see how effective that ad will be.

@GayMafiaKingpin: Frequency matters here. A lot of guys seem consistently preoccupied with decoding the hidden meanings in Grindr profile text (usually so they can play moral police), which totally makes it an obsession.

The app is built for shallow snap decisions about everyone. That’s something you accept the moment you create a profile. Pointing out the hypocrisy inherent in pieces like this won’t change that.
