OH SNAP — On Monday, Jimmy LaSalvia’s GOProud group moved into brand spanking new Capitol Hill offices, so they have more space to conduct deals with proud homophobes. Above, the first picture they hung up.

Who’s Doing GOProud’s Office Decorating, Mary Cheney?

It’s war criminal chic, the new trend for the season. Adorn your walls with Pinochet, Milosevic and other assorted people who should be rotting away in the Hague.
Baxter
I’m not sure I see the issue. A gay republican group hung up a picture of a republican who’s OK with gay marriage. What’s the problem?

Vomit + disgusting + money grubbing whores + evil backstabbing hypocrites + brain damaged ‘worship’/idealizing of our oppressors = GoProud.
Honestly, there aren’t words to express my disgust with these assholes. Hanging a fucking Dick Cheney picture first thing in your new space ?! Beyond belief…
Hate is a strong word, but here are people actively collaborating with those who wish to do us harm, while (apparently) enjoying all the priveleges and tolerance (that LIBERAL/PROGRESSIVE activists have worked decades for) in their own private lives…in short, riding on the coattails of the hard work of others, while making alliances with our enemies and oppressors…behavior that is truly less than human, by any understanding I have of the term. I sincerely hate these people, and can only wish bad things befall them, frequently.

The oddest thing is, Dick Cheney, the architect of the Iraq war, and the de facto U.S. president from 2000 to 2008, is pro-gay marriage.
President Obama isn’t.
Gridlock
He’s pro gay marriage when it doesn’t matter anymore.
Andrew
@Gridlock: As much as I dislike Dick Cheney, that’s untrue. He was Pro Gay Marriage as far back as the 2004 Presidential election…but he simply didn’t make it an issue and said “the administration makes my policy”.
So, you can debate whether not that was an honorable stance or not, — but let’s use the facts.
whatever
@Andrew: It was a meaningless stand, whether it was then or now.

All I can say is “I Love Dick”

Dick is only “pro-gay” marriage because one of his offsprings happens to be gay. It’s more like he is pro Mary Cheney’s rights than anything else.
christopher di spirito
I detest Cheney but he was pro-gay marriage in the debates.
He wants his little princess to have the same rights he and that shrew wife of his, Lynne Cheney enjoy.
Oddly, Obama was pro-gay marriage back in Illinois but once he reached the top of the political food chain, he changed his tune.
Someone who knows
Office? Try a basement…GOProud doesn’t have any money. Or people.
Bruce Majors
@Gridlock: Cheney campaigned for gay marriage, or against the federal anti-gay marriage amendment, way back in 1999 and 2000, when he was campaigning AGAINST George Bush in the Republican primaries.
Log Cabin Republicans aired a TV ad in the 2004 elections in swing states attacking George Bush using the footage of Cheney speaking out on behalf of gay marriage.
Facts are facts. It makes you look dishonest and undercuts your position when you lie or are ignorant.

@Dennis: Actually a lot of the rights gay people have won were won by activists who are not part of the Democratic Party/ “progressive” lobby in DC.
The Democratic Party’s main approach to gay people had been for years to talk about their issues without really solving any problems, so they can milk gays for money as a cash cow fundraising group. Actual progress on gay issues comes from libertarians and other non-Democrats. Two examples: (1) In the Hardwick decision that decriminalized gay sex in all 50 states, the Supreme Court quoted almost verbatim from the amicus brief filed by the libertarian CATO Institute’s constitutional law analyst Roger Pilon, (2) the person leading the legal charge against the anti-gay marriage law in California is Republican lawyer Ted Olson.
The mainstream gay lobbies in DC, which are all appendages of the Democratic Party, mainly exist to temporize and keep gay people silent and uncritical of Obama and other Democrats and to keep them writing checks. They are mainly about giving themselves jobs and promoting themselves. They often lie, with the Human Rights Campaign for example, sending out fundraising letters claiming it is responsible for some victory, when another group, from the Lambda Legal Foundation to the CATO Institute, actually produced the results.
Dennis
@christopher di spirito:
Dick Cheney supports ‘states rights’ to determine marriage laws…whatever!
And what the fuck did he do to when he was in office to make his support of LGBT relationships have any legal standing? Nothing.
reason
@brucemajors: That is not true, the Democrats have delivered on gay rights in several state houses across our union.

Hey Chris so if somebody has a different point of view even though you say you follow the Jounalist Ethic Code of Conduct you delete people who have different point of view on your blog. You sure donot practice what you preach.
