Neither the Minnesota Republican Party nor his Republican opponent are terribly impressed with gay State Sen. Paul Koering’s date with a porn star.
Koering, who schmoozed porn performer and escort Brandon Wildle over a “flirty” dinner, is already feeling the heat. The state GOP chairman Tony Sutton attacked: “Instead of focusing his efforts on job creation and the betterment of Senate District 12, Paul Koering has demonstrated incredibly poor judgment by spending time with an escort and pornographic film star. With his campaign message of lower taxes, sensible government and economic development, Paul Gazelka is the right leader for Senate District 12, and the Republican Party of Minnesota stands united behind his candidacy.”
But is Gazelka taking the high road? “Rather than focus on this event,” he wrote supporters via email, “we will be focusing on the issues where my opponent and I are different. If you think it is important that our state legislators be committed to reign in government spending and focus on creating private-sector jobs, then I believe I am the right candidate for you.” Among the issues where they “are different”: Gay marriage.
Ah yes, the oldest trick in the book. Maintain the appearance of maturity while refusing to call off the party’s attack dogs.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

He voted against marriage equality, I have no sympathy for him.

PS: Did that dumbass pornster actually get paw prints tats on his chest???? Nothing could contribute more to a Mr.Softee than imagining a furry beast mounting the guy you are about to do……….

I would do the same thing in his position, the boy is hot. But I’m not a Republican………….

If it had been one of the thirty-something or even forty-something man-studs from Titan Video or Hothouse would your reaction be the same? The age-difference factor bothers me more than his date’s “profession”….although I still find it all a bit creepy for an elected-official.

I think the man cleverly avoided most of the complaints people usually have about this kind of thing. He was openly gay already, it was a public date in a public place, it did not even include sexual activity, and he was even open about his date’s choice of career.
That takes away most of his opponent’s talking points right away – he can’t be accused of being in the closet, or of lying to his constituents, or of sex with a minor or anything of the sort. The only thing left is the porn connection, and the fact that everyone was open about that from the beginning takes a lot of the wind out of those sails too.
Well done.

@PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS: Can you even be a porn star nowadays without having an awful tattoo? I think it’s in the contract.

I just can’t get worked up over this. I don’t give a damn who this guy is dating or fucking. And the fact that he’s an openly gay senator with an odd record of voting against us and himself may I add is no justification for this nonsense. Not to mention this so-call humiliation seems not to be even working, he doesn’t even care. And personally I don’t see why he should or anyone else for that matter. So he’s on a date with a porn star, who gives a fuck, people can’t date porn stars? And if they do they should feel some kind of guilt? Whom among us doesn’t watch porn? I thought we were better then that as a community, that we didn’t hold the same stigma’s of sex that straights pretend to have.
If you’ll going to be mad, get pissed at his record, not who he has decide to be his play toy. Questioning how he’s gaining his bed knots only makes us look pathetic.
