Shelley Morrison, best known for her portrayal of Rosario on Will & Grace, has died at age 83.
The news was confirmed by Morrison’s publicist on Sunday, who cited heart failure following a “brief illness” as the cause of death.
While she will forever be remembered for her hilarious sharp-tongued battles with Megan Mullally’s Karen on the hit sitcom, Morrison’s acting credits run deep, beginning with a breakout role appearing with Sally Field on The Flying Nun in the late ’60s.
Morrison was invited to return to the Will & Grace revival but turned down the role, saying she’d retired from acting.
Her former costars offered some remembrances:
just got a bulletin on my phone that shelley morrison has passed. my heart is heavy. putting shelley, her beloved husband walter & their children in the light. thank you for your friendship & partnership, shell. you accomplished wonderful things in this world. you will be missed. pic.twitter.com/WeLGrWlRye

Shelley was a beautiful soul & a wonderful actor. Her work as Rosario, season after season, was as nuanced and real as it was hysterical. She will be missed by everyone at #WillandGrace, she’s a huge part of it. Sending so much love to Walter and Shelley’s whole family. #Rosario https://t.co/C1vkDTU6Qk

Anyone notice how Megan’s sentiment is the only one without condescension dripping throughout it.
Darsithis
Where did you see condescension?
Peter
No; I don’t see/get/feel any condescension in the other three remarks. What I did notice is your comment is a question — not a statement — and should’ve ended with a question mark.
OzJosh
Perhaps you’re projecting. By all accounts MM will need to be super nice to everyone for a while to make up for her diva antics on W&G.
OhNoYouDont
What the actual fuck are you talking about?
Cam
Anyone notice the troll accounts that come on and make vague statements without providing any details?
asa1973
@Peter. Thanks for the grammar lesson. I googled it. Turns out, you’re correct. Questions ARE supposed to end with a question mark. Who knew???? (I took some license with the extra punctuation in that last sentence to let you know your point was driven home.)

I didn’t notice anything! They all seemed to really enjoy each other. It’s hard to fake that for so many years.

There is no condescension in their sentiments (just your interpretation asa1973). Megan’s felt the most heartfelt because they were probably the closest as co-workers and friends since so many of their scenes over the years were with each other, but the entire cast had a closeness all those years they were together. Everyone has their own way of grieving: It could be on full display or tucked away in pleasantries, but the sadness is still there,

Very funny lady. Correction, the Flying Nun premiered in 1972 with Sally Field as sister Bertrille and Shelly Morrison was sister Sisto, Madeline Sherwood was the reverend mother and. Alejandro Rey was Carlos Ramirez, casino owner and playboy and accessory to many of sister Berterilles capers.

Correction: the flying nun ran for 3 seasons, from 1967, not 1972 and ran to 1970.
