Looks like Will Truman may get his happily-ever-after. Matt Bomer, who plays “America’s hottest gay news anchor” McCoy Whitman on Will & Grace, will return for the 11th and final season of the NBC sitcom, TheWrap reports.

The Magic Mike actor has appeared in four episodes so far, starting in Season 10, when Will (Eric McCormack) played dumb to woo him. Once the guys got past the games, though, they started dating in earnest, and Will asked McCoy to marry him in the season finale.
Also returning for Season 11 are Blythe Danner, who has played Will’s mom throughout the series, and Saturday Night Live’s Vanessa Bayer, who guest-starred in Season 10 as a Trump-hating bakery owner.

Meanwhile, Bomer is also starring in the DC Universe series Doom Patrol, playing gay superhero Larry Trainor a.k.a. Negative Man, and he’ll star in the third season of USA’s The Sinner.
Plus, you’ll see him on Netflix soon: Ryan Murphy is bringing a film adaptation of the Broadway play The Boys in the Band to the streaming service. The actor previously collaborated with Murphy on Glee, American Horror Story, and The Normal Heart. There’s no such thing as too much Matt Bomer, though!

There is a danger when bringing back a once cancelled series. The Family Guy worked but it was cancelled three times before it finally caught on and is now the only show worth watching on Fox on a Sunday night. Ten years (or so) ago I would have been rolling all over the floor laughing at just about everything Jack did and said but this time around even the laugh track thats being played sounds very strained. Maybe its live, maybe I’m right that its a laugh track. Either way it doesn’t matter because the show is just not funny anymore. I watch Snowfall on FX every Wednesday when it does its summer return but this season I noticed the writing in it too seems to be lacking. Thank god Salvation on CBS wasn’t renewed for a third season. Not even the people at Rand-McNally could tell you what direction that show was going even though the plot of the show was about a meteor crashing into earth. These guys (Jack and Will) have matured and it shows and by the way, they look very good. Jack looks extremely pained and a few times in that click I can swear I saw the look of “why did I agree to come back and do this” on his face. Nice try guys and I don’t blame you, if some one offered me that kind of money I would have put my personal feelings on the side and accepted it. This rightfully should be the last season for this revival if the producers feel it necessary to bring it back for one more.

I have to admit that I haven’t watched much of the Will and Grace revival. The original series was ground breaking in lots of ways, but it always shied away from (gasp) any even vaguely sexual relationship for Will. Maybe the finale will.
What I find really irritating is Queerty’s writer referring to Matt Bomer as “the Magic Mike actor!!” He is the EMMY nominated actor in the Normal Heart. That should be the descriptive way to mention Matt Bomer. Was he a Tony nominee for Boys in the Band? Who knows how good the movie will be. You also neglected to mention his 5 year run as the star of White Collar.
Yeah Bomer is a stunning looking man, but mainly he’s a good actor as an out gay man.

Not just Emmy nominated, Golden globe winner.

PAINFULLY unfunny.

The W&G Revival does not deserve all the shade it gets. It has had several hilarious moments that live up to the original. Is it as good overall? No, of course not, but it’s still better than 90% of the sitcom trash on TV now.
Having said that, the Matt Bomer character is under developed at best, but mostly just annoying. A proposal after 4 episodes? Yeah…….we’re really invested in Will and whatshisname.

I still love Will & Grace and to me it’s still as fantastic as it ever was. The revival showed that this series still has that magic but it’s also good to now end it (again) before the sparkle will fizzle out. One more season to look forward to !

Agreed! I loved the original, I love the new series and I am looking forward to the new series! *Sob* Will and Grace forever!

The headline for this article focusses on how this individual looks rather than his acting ability – that kind of stereotyping is annoying. Personally, I do not think the revived series is as funny as the original – maybe because the original had already dealt with many of the issues we wanted to see dealt with, except for seeing any real male on male passionate kissing or love-making. It is still sanitiized to make it acceptable to a wider audience. If it is not funny any more it is because we have heard all the jokes and been in the same situations first time around. I think it also lacks a Rosario, who played such an important role in the original. It is time to end the show and give us something more akin to real gay characters and life.

Whatever happen to Papi Chulo??
I was wanting to see it but apparently it came and went in Austin without a peep!
Part of the problem is the theater they chose to show it was the wrong one.
Don’t wish to favor one over another but in Austin it should have been the Alamo Draft House

I saw every episode of the original W & G, always liked it. When the first episode of the re-boot came, I watched it hoping for the best, but was sorely disappointed and pissed off that they immediately brought politics into it. I have not watched a single episode since, it doesn’t even exist to me.

Translation: The right wing troll account that routinely defends anti-LGBTQ Republican bigots, doesn’t like that Will and Grace dares to point out attacks against our civil rights.

I didn’t expect to like the revival, but they did a better job then I thought and I got into it.
