So upset with the New York State Senate’s inability to stop acting like third graders and come together to pass legislation, Gov. David Paterson is demanding senators work through the holiday weekend. We’re doubting much will get done just because Paterson says so — given folks like Sen. Ruben Diaz has said he has no plans on staying in Albany. And we’re sorry we’ve been bringing you so much New York state politics lately, but when the circus is in town, you don’t want to miss it.

This will play on until 2013 when the new districts are set by 2010 census figures and the Democrats have a stronger margin of control in the Senate…UNLESS…us voters in 2010 decide to vote out those responsible for this mess and get new blood in Albany that is THANKFUL to be elected and actually cares more about their constituents than their own job security.
The bottom line is the Republicans are doing this to change Senate rules in their favor, because they know they will be a minority party for the next decade, and possibly even longer.

It’s a tie now. If you were somehow successful in replacing *all* of them, it’d still be a tie.
Not that they don’t need to go; there’s a reason we don’t elect kindergartners.
