But when the Gay Men’s Health Crisis moves from West 24th Street, in the heart of Chelsea in New York City, to the desert of West 33rd Street, there is uproar. And after much debate (and opposition from Larry Kramer), the organization is indeed decamping — to save some $24 million over the life of the new 8.5-year lease.

They should rename it while they’re at it, GHMC is open to everyone, and the “middle class white gay men” types who founded it won’t even go there today.
