Last week, Rick Owens made a big splash at Paris Fashion Week by presenting his latest collection with a women’s step team. The ladies, who represented all shapes and race, brought an immediate feeling of freshness and diversity not seen on the runway. The internet practically blew up at the sensational show – instagraming and vining as much as it could of the unexpected experience. Over the weekend, video (above) finally surfaced showing the women in action. Let’s just say this is a type of show we want to see more of in the future.

That was amazing and as revolutionary as when Yves St Laurent put the first Black models on the runway ages ago. Kudos to Rick Owens!! Real women, women of all colors in a breakthrough presentation of fashion. EXCELLENT.

@stanhope: You took the words outta my mouth! Long live diversity in fashion!

Super cool. Would have been nice to see actual footage instead of an interview montage. But nonetheless, awesome.

“Stepping”? Is this for real? Never heard of it.
Cee
I wanted to see the show and less of the melted face guy they interviewed.
Cee
@Cee: And was that a woman b4 him? She looked like death.
Cee
@yaoming: Yeah. It’s real. I’m sure you can’t do it.

Are they lesbians?

This is actually pretty awesome and different for Paris fashion week. However, Rick Owens should check his facts, because stepping is not “American” it originated in Africa. So technically, he didn’t bring anything “American” to the show.

@Cee:
the “melted face guy” and woman who looks like death are rick owens- the designer, & michele lamy. the people responsible for this presentation.

@eigilvesti: Okay. Well, they looks hideous. Sorry. I’m sure they do not look that way naturally either.
