Last weekend was the grand finale of Pride month, with celebrations happening in New York, San Francisco, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Nashville, London, and more. All across the world people put on their rainbow gear and took to the streets to celebrate.
We’ve scoured Instagram for some of our favorite Pride pics. Check them out below, plus don’t forget to submit your own Pride photos to our #TakePride photo challenge for an opportunity to be featured on Queerty’s Instagram page.

Didn’t BLM protested pride event to be cancelled?
IDoNotHaveToAgreeWithYou
Shhhh. They’ll remove your comment for bringing up how BLM terrorists are attacking prides all over the country just like they did mine.
Kangol
No, Black Lives Matter protested the presence of cops pinkwashing by claiming to be pro-LGBTQ. They were protesting cops who get killed unarmed black people, like the one who murdered Philando Castile, or Eric Garner, or Akai Gurley, or Tamir Rice, or John Crawford III, or Sean Bell, or Amadou Diallo, etc. That’s what they were protesting, not for LGBTQ Pride to be canceled unilaterally. So your r @cist misinformation is wrong.
IDoNotHaveToAgreeWithYou
They are protesting the cops that ran into Pulse while BLM sat up on their asses and cashed welfare checks and never once doing anything for the gay community other than threaten us.
mhoffman953
@Kangol
Are you saying that all cops are bad and racist?
KaiserVonScheiss
@Kangol
And what does any of that have to do with Pride? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Kangol
Great scenes from the Pride events around the country and in Canada!

And Mexico and Brazil and…..
You should go back and view it again for the first time.

Toronto wasn’t the only place that the head of government took part in the Pride parade. Here in Dublin (Ireland) our new (gay) Taoiseach (Prime Minister) took part in the parade and addressed the crowd at the end of it. My group was near the back of the parade and, unfortunately, his speech was over by the time we got to where it ended.
fredo777
@IDoNotHaveToAgreeWithYou So, they’re necessarily collecting welfare checks because they support BLM (which, btw, doesn’t necessarily even mean they’re all black). You racist tw@t.
IDoNotHaveToAgreeWithYou
Because they have proven themselves to be nothing but thugs supporting thugs. And thugs do nothing but take and never contribute. You black racists supporter.
Danny595
Gee, only 7 pics in the set show gross weirdness, cross-dressing and sexual fetishes. Plus one pic apparently sufficiently offensive to warrant removal by Instagram. Things are really looking up for “pride.”
money718
My thoughts exactly.
Lookyloo
I bet you’d be more comfortable at a gathering where the people wear white hoods and robes.

Not everyone are closeted gay republican males
Richard 55
Pride has turned into a horror show. Lots of garish bodies and posers with a potpourri of grievances unrelated to the cause of male homosexual rights.
Just call it quits. Enough. The movement is over.
It’s what happens when you allow the Left to hijack male sexuality rights. The Left brings in women and transgenders, thus erasing the cause of male homosexual rights.
Enjoy the male homosexual erasure, guys.
Lookyloo
@Richard 55 — You’re a dumb bigot (not a surprising combo)
Pride was NEVER only about male homosexuals.
Why you think the opposite is entirely idiotic… or, at the least, totally ignorant.
Pride has been inclusive to gay (and, yes, even trans) people of ANY gender from its inception as the Cristopher Street Liberation Day in 1969; which was started by 2 gay men and 2 gay women.
The 4 of them moved on the idea because of the Stonewall Inn Riots which, as any self respecting gay would know, involved gay men, gay women, and very instrumental trans people. That’s why Pride has always been about everyone under the LGBTQ umbrella.
So, perhaps instead of Pride calling it quits, you should quit Pride and understand your ideals have never aligned with Pride.
IDoNotHaveToAgreeWithYou
Pride was almost white male homosexual for decades because black and hispanics are so violently homophobic that minority gays didn’t show their faces. The same is still true but now instead of addressing that minority gays are attacking the same white gay males that carried the entire movement and made all the progress. White lesbians were there when they movement started but went into hiding until recent years.

I’m sorry. But i don’t attend pride anymore. For the simple reason it is no longer about our community. It has be come to politicised. BLM or Any other group that doesn’t pertain to lgbtq community should not be involved. This is our day. Our weekend or it was. Not only do we have other groups. But more and more of your venders are straight and looking to make just make money. They are not there to support us. So until things change. And i really don’t see that happening. I will celebrate gay pride at home.
mhoffman953
@ric
Too bad people don’t have their eyes opened like you.
Just look at the bombardment of advertisers using rainbow inspired products this month. It’s not about showing their support, they want our money.
And as you said, it’s now becoming politicized. Just look at the pride flag having to add a black and brown stripe, protests over cops being allowed to attend pride, and even outcry over a gay flag with a Jewish star on it
Lookyloo
@mhoffman953
Quit with the exaggerating.
– One city in all of America added black and brown stripes… and it was met with mixed reactions. One city.
– Cops weren’t protested for working Pride like they would any event; they were protested in a few places because they were co-opting rainbow imagery on their vehicles and uniforms (the very thing you were complaining about corporations doing). Again, only in a few places out of all of America.
– One event in the whole of America had issue with the Star of David on rainbow flags. One event – and that wasn’t even the main Pride event but a sub-offshoot by one particular group.
And Pride has always been politicized. What do you think brought about the start of the idea of Pride events? Politics. It’s always been a brash, in your face, venue of political statements. It’s politicization has actually been tamping down over the years (though this year it may have bumped up a bit) So, don’t be a moron. Know your history.
mhoffman953
@Lookyloo
I’m not exaggerating at all.
You are correct that one city in America adopted this new pride flag, but the story was covered everywhere from small blogs online to CNN. It has been adopted throughout social media and has proven to divide the gay community more than unite it. Even you agree by stating it was met with mixed reactions. It turned the fight for gay rights into an internal fight within the community over race.
“Cops weren’t protested for working Pride like they would any event; they were protested in a few places because they were co-opting rainbow imagery on their vehicles and uniforms (the very thing you were complaining about corporations doing)”
False. Why do you have to lie? Cops were protested because some BLM people who were in the pride marches hate police. Just see the below articles:
http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/25/us/no-justice-no-pride-protests/index.html
https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2017/06/protests-within-lgbtq-community-block-pride-events-across-country/
Plus, the police wearing a pride flag on their uniforms or vehicles is not the same as a multi-million dollar corporation like M&Ms, Smirnoff, or others using the brand for financial gain. The police don’t sell a product. Quit equating the two in hopes of feeling smart.
“One event in the whole of America had issue with the Star of David on rainbow flags. One event – and that wasn’t even the main Pride event”
So because it doesn’t happen at the main Pride event we should just ignore it? Do you realize how dumb that sounds?
jeff1370
Reading the comments here, the caliber of gay people, above, is questionable at best. Maybe we shouldn’t have pride celebrations anymore.
Jaybosinggs
Wow. Some of you are either dumb, ignorant or both. First of all, Pride is about a lot more than just “gay male sexuality” that’s just idiocy. Lesbians and bisexual people exist as well and have been a part of the movement for a long time. Also, learn your goddamn history people. If we go back to the Stonewall Riots of 1969, which is where prided started, it was drag queens and TRANS WOMEN OF COLOR, who was leading a lot of these charges. There are people who fought for your right to sit up here and judge others like them. Also, BLM is out here in the name of solidarity! Whether your ass wants to admit it or not, Queer POC exist as well and the struggle is different. Sorry that everything can’t be white and heteronormative male all the time. You al need to really re-evaluate why you celebrate pride. It’s always been political, it was never unpolitical and for most of our lifetimes, it always will be political. Don’t come after those organization straight or for different causes that want to come out to pride and support. That just doesn’t make any sense. Although, judging, by the way, some of you type, I can see that you may not even be able to process on a high enough cognitive level to understand anything I just said. So, let me sum it up. PRIDE IS ABOUT UNITY AND OUR RIGHT TO EXIST IN THE OPEN AMONG EVERYONE ELSE. IT IS FOR POC, TRANS PEOPLE, BI PEOPLE, AND EVERYONE ELSE INBETWEEN. IT SHOULDN’T MATTER IF YOU ARE GAY, BI, LESBIAN, STRAIGHT, BLACK, WHITE, LATINX, or ASIAN. CHRISTIAN, MUSLIM, HINDU, BHUDDIST, OR ATHEIST. LET US CELEBRATE OUR DIVERSITY AND ALLOW OUR ALLIES TO CELEBRATE WITH US. HAPPY PRIDE AND SIT ALL OF YOUR ASSES DOWN.
Sluggo2007
What do black people talk about when they’re not complaining?
