The Westboro Baptist Church is famous for disrupting people’s lives with their offensive signs and horrible demeanor.
So what’s the best way to combat all the hate?

Well, probably just by ignoring them altogether and starving their putrid fire of the oxygen it needs to stay lit.
But sometimes a well-publicized slap in the face is so much more satisfying, and today that comes via this video of the Foo Fighters Rickrolling a Westboro protest.
The already-amazing incident is made even better knowing that the hate group was there in Kansas City, Missouri to protest the Foo Fighters’ show.

So imagine how the Westboro bunch must have felt when crowds around them cheered as Dave Grohl and co. pulled up in a pickup blasting Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
Bonus points for the speedo:
There is a lot of madness in the world. Sometimes a lighthearted action can put things into perspective.
Love it! Rock on bitches!
That’s the way to handle bigots like the WBC…Laugh & Dance and Celebrate life in their face.
Do we have to be reminded of the WBC, just go away…
What is “rickrolling”?
WBC are irrelevant. Don’t waste your time. Just ignore them.
I agree that the WBC are best left ignored, but this was a good way to deal with them. Notice the end of the video where all these happy people are whooping it up in the streets and suddenly, you barely even see the idiots except for part of one of their loser signs. This is a win win. Have a lot of fun and marginalize the monsters.
Dave is brilliant!
Love this! Especially the speedos! ð???
I’ve made $62,000 so far this year w0rking 0nline and I’m a full time student. I’m using an 0nline business opportunity I heard about and I’ve made such great m0ney. It’s really user friendly and I’m just so happy that I found out about it. Here’s what I’ve been doing… ++++++++++++++++++++++++
Just reminds me of how big a crush I had on Rick Astley when I was a kid…
@Geoff B: WBC is already marginalized. This “rickrolling”, though light-hearted and entertaining, only draws attention to the lunatics, which is what they want. It doesn’t bother me that they did it, but I still think the best approach to WBC is to ignore them.
Only improvement would be lots of placards of their own to obscure those of the WBC so they would not even be visible!
