You’re Just Attacking the Vatican Because You Don’t Like Its Anti-Gay Marriage Advocacy

This sounds about right: Rather than own the criticism over its handling of the priest abuse scandal — which was horrific — the Catholic Church is insisting the attacks on it in the press are retribution for its positions on gay marriage and abortion.

“The pope defends life and the family, based on marriage between a man and a woman, in a world in which powerful lobbies would like to impose a completely different” agenda, Spanish Cardinal Julian Herranz, head of the disciplinary commission for Holy See officials, told a radio audience.

It’s lovely to see, however, that at long last the Holy See is letting the Devil off the hook.

Hmm, and all of those thousands of people suing the vatican all over the U.S., Europe, and Latin America claiming to have been abused over the past many decades… that why THEY’RE attacking them? Oh wait, thats right, the church sanctioned and hid the rape, torture, and abuse of thousands of children worldwide. Guess they forgot to mention that part.

la la la la la la la. Let’s pretend some more.

“The pope defends life and the family, based on marriage between a man and a woman [or a soft altar boy] in a world

Blah, blah fuckin’ blah. But its expected from the Vatican’s Dark Emperor –>

The best defense is a [pathetic, feeble and infuriating] offense.

Of course they’re letting the Devil off the hook; he’s the guy in white in that photograph!

  • Wade MacMorrighan

Of course! Yet, you don’t hear the Church declaring to the public that for the first several hundred years of the Church’s inception, it would NOT solemnize marriages. It thought that marriages were inconsistent with Christian belief systems.

BTW, has anyone noted how many fucking HAWT Priests there are?! ZOMGs!!! I just saw a hot Priest interviewed on CNN (waiting to see what Kyra says), and I remember back when the new Pope was being chosen and all of the Priests they kept interviewing were as hot as any underwear model or porn star!!! DAYUM!!!

To be sure their opposition to same sex marriage and all the rest of their bigotry pisses us off.

As does the fact that fascists like Opus Dei are central to their politics.

And the fact that they accumulate land and riches while people die of starvation.

And the rapes and conspiracy to protect the rapists.

    And their tax free status.

And their superstition, a howling madness straight out of the Dark Ages.

The list is as endless as their crimes. There are no crimes they haven’t committed, refined and used repeatedly to accumulate power, land and money.

The display a universal lack of ethics.

Their power, a state power, not a cult power, projected over 1600 years, is one of the chief tragedies of humankind.

“the Catholic Church is insisting the attacks on it in the press are retribution for its positions on gay marriage and abortion.”

    well, its true.

Speaking as a Family Therapist–this is such typical behavior for an abuser…take no responsibility for one’s own actions, and blame everything either on the victim (“it was his fault for being so attractive”)or the ones pointing out the emperor has no clothes.

    The bottom line is this:

If another high up official was caught covering up the same exact scandal, he’d be thrown in jail for so many things, most likely of all for the obstruction of justice. But since he’s god’s go-to guy, we’re supposed to cut him some slack.

Anyone recall that South Park episode with the NAMBLA conference?

NAMBLA Leader: Rights? Does anybody know their rights? You see, I’ve learned something today. [Stan and Kyle look at each other] Our forefathers came to this country because… they believed in an idea. An idea called “freedom.” They wanted to live in a place where a group couldn’t be prosecuted for their beliefs. Where a person can live the way he chooses to live. [Stan, Kyle, and Cartman look at each other] You see us as being perverted because we’re different from you. People are afraid of us, because they don’t understand. And sometimes it’s easier to persecute than to understand. [Stan and Kyle look at each other, then at the NAMBLA leader]

Kyle: Dude. You have sex with children.

NAMBLA Leader: We are human. Most of us didn’t even choose to be attracted to young boys. We were born that way. We can’t help the way we are, and if you all can’t understand that, well, then, I guess you’ll just have to put us away. [shots of the agents, then the Brando look-alikes, then Stan and Kyle, who look at each other, then at the NAMBLA leader]

Kyle: [slowly, for emphasis] Dude. You have sex with children.

well, an italian bishop said: Gays shouldn’t be given funerals, argues Italian bishop. The bishop of the city of Tursi has declared homosexuals should not receive communion or be given funerals. (

I dunno; I think they’re making a great jopb at spreading love of christ to all people!!!
