Yves Saint Laurent Crumples Like Last Season’s Couture

We’re sure more than a few of your homos and homo-lovers will be interested to know that Yves Saint Laurent (pictured), the iconic fashion designer who brought us a new generation of androgynous suits for women, collapsed in Paris earlier today. At 70, Laurent remains one of fashion’s fast-fading old guard – a label he readily assumed when he retired from fashion in 2002, saying he had no place in today’s industry.
Well, let’s hope the same isn’t true for his place in the world.

For those of you not familiar with Yves Saint Laurent and his storied career, we recommend Alicia Drake’s The Beautiful Fall, which explores the lives and loves of both Laurent and his rival, Karl Lagerfeld, in 1970s Paris.
