Zac Efron is proud as pie to be featured on Details magazine’s latest cover. Not only does the actor respect the monthly men’s magazine, but he’s apparently an avid reader. How predictable!
Here’s some video from behind the Details shoot, during which Efron admits having an unhealthy obsession with Leonardo DiCaprio. Now, we know you’ll probably say that makes Efron gay – we would! – but he’s okay with that: “Honestly, if the worst [you] can say about me is that I’m gay, then I think I’ll be fine. I can handle it.” Good.

What Zac said was that he was envious of Leonardo because he had all these chicks fauning over him, not that he lusted for Leo. In his recent interview for a teen mag, he said he had lusted over Tyra Banks. Whether or not any of this p.r. is true or not, it is to move his career forward.
Look, as long as agents tell their clients if you come out, you can’t be a top-tier movie star, then no top-tier actors will come out. As long as pollsters and focus groups tell candidates to support marriage equality means you can’t get elected president, then no top-tier presidential candidates will support marriage equality. And on and on, until somebody has the courage and decency to be the first.

Did this Zac guy say that being called gay is on a list of “worst things to be called”? I wonder what the other “worst” things to be called are.
Maybe I’m reading it wrong.

Abe, this is straight from the publicist’s mouth to Zac’s ear and then to us. It is, in fact, a denial, but in a light-hearted way, not a Tommy-Cruise-Lawyer-On-Speed-Dial way. Queen Latifah: “People can say what they want.”
Believe this: When people chuckle and say, “I don’t care what you call me,” it can only mean one thing: they care bigtime what you call them.
