Zachary Quinto Heads To Broadway In Tennessee Williams Revival

Zachary Quinto Shankbone 2009 TribecaGoodbye pointy Spock ears, hello rumpled ’40s suit. Star Trek‘s Zachary Quinto will portray Tom Wingfield in a new Broadway production of Tennessee Williams’ masterpiece The Glass Menagerie.

Quinto starred in an off-Broadway revival of Tony Kushner’s Angels in America in 2010, so Menagerie will mark the out actor’s debut on the Great White Way. The actor was considered a successful Winfield (considered a stand-in for the tortured gay Williams) in a smaller production outside Boston opposite two-time Tony Award-winning out actress Cherry Jones, who will again costar as  his mother Amanda.

The latest revival is scheduled to begin 17 weeks of performances on September 5 in a theater still to be determined.
