“I knew very fundamentally, inside, that it had to be initiated and executed by me, and me alone…
One of the defining conversations that I had with myself was that absolutely no good can come from me staying quiet about [my sexuality]. Literally, no good can come from it. But if I take the step to make the acknowledgment and be honest, so much good could potentially come from it.”
—Star Trek star Zachary Quinto, discussing his decision to come out, in the October issue of Out magazine. In the same interview, Quinto described his relationship with fellow actor Jonathan Groff (Glee), saying “I’m incredibly happy, I’m incredibly lucky.”

He’s a handsome devil.

Good for him. I really love the fact that he came out while his career is on the upswing rather than after it was over. I really respect the guy.

Zachary Quinto is GAY?? Your performance in Heros was flawless, but your performance as Spock in the latest Star Trek Movie was incredibly powerful whilst also moving – ensuring your character’s Vulcan ‘distance’ and “lack of emotion” remained strong. Now, along with George Takei’s Sulu, I find out that the actor who played my favourite ever Science Fiction Character “Spock” in the latest Star Trek Movie is a professional who happens to be gay. My heart soars like an Angel and makes my own decision to come out in my Vlog readingstoriesaloud.com two days ago even more poignant and appropriate. Thank you Zachary for being brave enough to come out – for my sake – for your sake – and for all the young and not so young GLBTIQ people ‘in hiding’ out there. Thank you!
