The cast of the original Queer Eye For The Straight Guy [pictured abover in 2003] are getting back together to mark the show’s 20th anniversary. The reunion will be a live event taking place on Saturday, December 16th, at Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Queer Eye first aired on Bravo in July 2003. It proved an immediate hit and won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program in 2004. The transformation show ran for five seasons (dropping the ‘For The Straight Guy’ part of its title in season 3).
It featured Carson Kressley (“fashion savant”), Jai Rodriguez (“culture vulture”) Kyan Douglas (“hair/grooming guru”), Ted Allen (“food connoisseur”), and Thom Filicia (“design doctor”).
During the reunion, “fans will have the opportunity to see their favorite OG ‘Fab Five’ together once again as they share behind-the-scenes stories, memorable moments from the show, discuss the impact of Queer Eye on culture and society, participate in Q&A, and [conduct] live audience makeovers.”
VIP meet and greet packages will also be available. Good Day Philadelphia anchor Thomas Drayton will host the event.
The show, of course, was rebooted in 2018. The new version of Queer Eye features Antoni Porowski (food and wine), Bobby Berk (design), Jonathan Van Ness (hair/grooming), Karamo Brown (culture), and Tan France (fashion). The seventh season debuted on Netflix earlier this year, but there’s no confirmation yet of an eighth.
Cast members from both shows (minus Karamo Brown due to filming commitments elsewhere) took part in a celebrity version of Family Feud three years ago.
