ABC's Latest Queer Storyline: Eli Stone's FTM Priest

Ever the progressive network, ABC last night introduced the latest in its series of LGBT-oriented storylines. Eli Stone — where Angelina Jolie's ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller plays a do-gooding attorney in touch with God's will — handled the case of the Rev. Michelle Stills, now the Rev. Michael Stills, a female-to-male transgendered priest who lost his job because of the sex change, inviting all sorts of "religious freedoms vs. discrimination law" fun. (The fictional church's argument: It's a contract dispute, since they enlisted Michelle to work for them, not Michael.) We won't spoil the ending, so read the recap here, or watch the full episode on ABC.com here.

I've loved this show from the beginning. I feel that it has gotten better and its a shame that it has been canceled. I didn't know they were going to do a show revolving transgendered issues. I think they did a great job.
