What exactly is “weird” about Johnny? I can understand how a lumbering homophobe might see him that way, but here on Queerty where we embrace all sorts of diversity? He’s work long hours and a whole lotta years for his “15 seconds fame”.

Johnny Weir will come out, in his own time, as gay, straight, bi {hello again Jason!}, queer…..or….. asexual. Until we’ve, um, skated 10,000 km in his skates, I can’t hate on him, without knowing his reasons. Lots of Queertyville folks will disagree, I know.
Meanwhile, he is very much his own person. A part of me almost —but not quite, really — wishes he were hetero, only because the whole confusion of sexuality with “gender conformity” vexes me to no end.
I know — and I bet most of us know — men and women who are not stereotypically gender-conforming *without* being LGBT. And that takes a special form of bravery, chutzpah, and fierceness since people automatically put them in the “wrong” category, and they don’t change who they are or how they act anyway..
Is he gay? If I were betting, I’d say “yes,” but if he comes out as bi or str8, I’ll admire his talent no less [---and still wish I had an ass like that.]
We’ll see how much more fierce he gets….
