Tennis Pro Rafael Nadal Stripped Down For Tommy Hilfiger And We Can’t Breathe

Untitled-1Clothier Tommy Hilfiger is turning up the heat in its latest underwear campaign with the help of tennis pro Rafael Nadal. The 14-time Grand Slam champ and Olympic gold medalist, has been named the global ambassador of the fashion brand, as well as the face and body of Hilfiger’s underwear collection.

The campaign was kicked off in Manhattan’s Bryant Park yesterday with Nadal playing a friendly game of tennis (refereed by Jane Lynch) against several models where the penalty for losing a point was to remove an article of clothing. However, those who showed up waiting to see Nadal running around the court in his skivvies might have left a little disappointed. The “King of Clay” — who wore a Tommy Hilfiger suit — only removed his belt and tie throughout the entire match. Nadal later took off the shirt and jacket for a photo op, which might have also had something to do with the sweltering summer heat in New York City.

Even though Nadal didn’t give a live underwear show during yesterday’s event, there is a video ad that features Rafael stripping down to his Tommys and then some. The 30-second teaser is set in a locker room because let’s face it — the fantasy of watching a pro athlete take it all off in that kind of setting makes everyone’s mouth water. Watch the clip below. It’ll leave you either wanting to buy the underwear or start taking tennis lessons.
