On Tuesday, a senior coroner confirmed George Michael died of natural causes.
The pop icon, found dead on Christmas Eve last year at the age of 53, died due to a combination of liver and heart problems.

“Inquiries into the death of George Michael have concluded and the final post mortem report received.
As there is a confirmed natural cause of death, being dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver, the investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further inquiries.
No further updates will be provided and the family requests the media and public respect their privacy.”
Following his death, the initial post-mortem by Thames Valley Police was “inconclusive,” but was “still being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.”
In his lifetime, the “Father Figure” singer sold an estimated 80 million records worldwide. He scored eight #1 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Michael’s lover Fadi Fawaz, who became a target for all sorts of tabloid speculation in the wake of the pop star’s death, broke his silence with a string of emotional Tweets on Tuesday morning:

these “causes of death” seem like treatable illnesses for someone of Michael’s age and wealth. For example,
Steve Jobs was rumored to have established residency in another state to increase his chances of getting a liver transplant.
The fact that these determinations took so long suggest that Michael wasn’t being actively treated for these ailments.

Probably not. There are a few scattered reports that he gained a tremendous amount of weight, which is why there are no photos of him in public since around 2012 or so. Both the heart and liver issues are often due to morbid obesity. Tragic, as it’s likely to have been completely preventable with medical intervention.

Then again, he may have developed myocarditis and was put on steroids, which would explain the weight gain. Many possibilities, and no way to know for sure.

I love GM and I’m relieved that his family and his bf can now get closure. By the way Bromancer, you *can* see pics of him in recent years and he is obese and essentially unrecognizable. I think the weight gain may have gone hand in hand with the medical issues as either the cause or the effect. The press quoted Fadi as saying that George loved liquid G and I still wonder if that had something to do with his death. Also, how is it that he was alone on Xmas Eve with Fadi allegedly sleeping in his car??? Finally, they removed Fadi’s two or three clips from Pornhub. I can see why George liked him. 🙂

Over two months for autopsy to report natural causes liver and weight, so the typical expected by the social media and paparazzi was expecting and hoping for juicy gossip to exploit, trash reporters and social media frenzy hoped for a typical celebrity death due to abuse of pain killers or coke etc. Anything to smear the name At least his partner and family have closure and peace . The media cruel feeding on the speculation smearing lives even in GM death the media put his partners life under the microscope, trash reporting, porn images, anything to twist into something ugly. GM’s family, partner and friends are mourning their loss of George, their love for him and like all who lost loved ones it is devastating. Why people tolerate and write such horrible things when celebrities pass and put their loved ones threw hell is just wrong. Hopefully his partner can feel peace and comfort with family and friends and now George can rest peacefully

Sorry, but this is bullsh*t. A 53-year-old man of average health does NOT die from “natural causes.” If you drop dead from a heart attack at age 53, it’s either because of a congenital defect, or from unhealthy lifestyle habits that prematurely age the body and its organs (smoking, alcohol, drugs, overeating, no exercise, etc.) — neither of which qualifies as “natural causes.” Whenever I hear that term — “natural causes” — being used to explain away someone’s death, my immediate thought is, either the coroner is too lazy to do the legwork necessary to find out the TRUE cause of death, or there is a concerted effort to cover up the REAL cause of death.

I think they found the cause. Dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver. Dilated cardiomyopathy is a condition in which the heart’s ability to pump blood is limited, while myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle.

Also I think natural means he didn’t die of say a drug over dose. The root cause of his medical problem is another story and it’s not the job of he medical examiner to speculate.
