We’ve seen Harry Potter magic, Eurovision-style flare and uniformed glory all feature into fabulous gay wedding proposals, but this, folks, is the new score to beat.
It’s safe to say DeAndre Upshaw was certain about his decision to pop the question to longtime boyfriend, Stu, because with the amount of planning his next-level proposal must have taken, he surely had opportunity to question his motives.
Upshaw, a video producer from Dallas, shared the impressive feat on YouTube, effectively raising the bar for fans of elaborate surprise proposals.
According to Upshaw, the production included:

It is very nice to watch, but I dont want one of these for me. I would rather have a romantic dinner for two with a traditional proposal.

@Billy Budd: I totally agree. To me, a marriage proposal is an intimate event, to be shared with just the couple. I definitely wouldn’t want an audience while proposing or being proposed to.
And enough with these flash mob proposals. Geez!!! See Spencer & Dustin. This is what you started. :-p

I don’t see marriage as a necessity for forming a committed relationship for either gays or straights and so I don’t see it as any kind of sacred or meaningful institution that needs to be taken too seriously. That being said I think if people want to have a little fun with it then by all means go ahead. A little irreverence can be a good thing.

I just want my boyfriend to say “Want to get married? Let’s go down to city hall today.” Not romantic but practical. I’m an easy to please kind of guy.

@Dave Downunder: The problem with your line of thought is that, here in the US, it’s more of a legal situation, even though it was originally a religious thing. I won’t go into it all; you can look it up.
