Bill Donohue and his underlings at Catholic League are fired up over some of the Democratic Party's preferred blogs.
One hundred and twenty blogs have been credentialed to cover the party's Convention in Denver next week. While Donohue approves of some, he's vehemently opposed to others, including gay blog Towleroad:
Towleroad describes itself as 'A Site with Homosexual Tendencies.' Accordingly, it shows men in jock straps and underwear. It also has a post on Pope Benedict XVI that takes him to task for wearing a cape with ermine. Some of those who commented on this described the pope in a vile and profane way.[This blog and Bitch Ph.D.] should be cut immediately from the list of credentialed sites. Neither functions as a responsible media outlet and both offend Catholics, as well as others. To allow them access to the Democratic National Convention sends a message to Catholics they will not forget.
Donohue then demands DNC Chief of Staff and Convention CEO Leah Daughtry banish the bloggers from the Democratic land. As if that's going to happen.

DEMOCRATS MUST NIX OFFENSIVE BLOGGERS
Over 120 blogs have been credentialed as members of the media for the Democratic National Convention; those who have received credentials are allowed to cover the Convention at the Pepsi Center. While most of them offer legitimate commentary, some do not.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue is protesting two of the blogs:
"The list of credentialed blogs include radical sites like The Daily Kos. Worse are blogs that feature anti-Catholic and obscene material. The two most offensive are Bitch Ph.D. and Towleroad.
"On the home page of Bitch Ph.D. there is a picture of two children: one of them is shown flashing his middle finger. Today's lead post, which was written August 17, is called 'Jesus Christ' It begins with, 'I'm a really crappy Catholic who hasn't been to mass in ages because most parishes around here 'will' insist on being aggressively anti-abortion….' The writer then objects to some children's toys on the grounds that they are more offensive than desecrating the Eucharist. The toys are actually balloons that have been made to depict Jesus in various poses, including a crucified Christ; one of these images shows Jesus with a penis. Several who commented on this image made patently obscene comments.

Where did this appear. Bill Donohue and the Catholic League used to be described as "one man and a fax machine", is this from a blog? In which case the Catholic League is now one man and a blog.
There are no "underlings". Bill Donohue speaks for n o Catholic except himself.
He is a nutcase and there are plenty of moderate to liberal Catholic lay people, and even priests, out there who are embarrassed by him.

I saw a poll a while back that reported that a majority of 55% of Catholics do not believe homosexuality is a sin. That number is only going to increase and so it's clear that this idiot's days are numbered.
I once read that the so called CATHOLIC LEAGUE is comprised of only one member -Bill Donahue. Why do the media treat him as if he represents the views of thousands of devout Catholics?

YES Donohue is a one-man act. It infuriates me how the press gives him an outlet, when he's just one lone nut. I used to work at a New York daily and would get ancient-looking faxes from him (yes, FAXES in the 21st century) saying "American Catholics are outraged that…"

So he finds certain blogsites offensive. Well, I've got news for him. His church has been offending my fellow LGBT people for two millenia, until that stops, catholic bashing won't, deservedly so.
