Discriminating Against Gays Only Helps HIV Spread in Africa

APPARENTLY … Discrimination and harassment toward gays in Africa is not helping stem the spread of HIV among gays. Prejudice against The Gays, apparently, leads to isolation of the community, which limits education, and breeds HIV rates among gay men that in some nations are 10X higher than gen pop. And women aren't off the hook, either: These same men are going home to have sex with them, unprotected. [BBC]

I would expect at least 5 racist comments by now. Strange. Maybe no one's falling for the bait.

It still amazes me that this report is news to some people. I would have thought it was basic common sense.

Africa is a huge continent, not a country. The HIV problem is very different in every country. Theres an awesome video on TED.com that explains the situtation like you probably never tought.
