Everybody Thought It Was a Good Idea to Let Dennis the Menace Enjoy Bath Time With His Adult Neighbor?

THE SHOT — The real tragedy of newspapers’ decline: There isn’t an editor to suggest this Dennis The Menace cartoon be revised. Though surprisingly, Maxim already thought of this storyline:

it’s funny how the addition of body hair on Mr. Wilson sexualizes the situation even further.

Makes you think.

It all depends on where you live. “Children are clearly psychologically destroyed and scarred for life if they see a naked or seminude adult in a bath- or hot- tub or sauna.’ That’s long been the belief in the US.

In other some countries e.g. In Northern Europe, families will take a sauna or hot tub or a bath together or swim in a pond or the sea. Families vary of course on how much theyre covering themselves, and the age of the offspring matters,, but the worry of seeing parents semi naked is not so much an obsession or tabboo as is it is here.

“Yes I saw my grannie’s nipples and that’s what made me gay”. Right, yeah, ok, sure, why not

See, that cartoon just proves that it’s the children that are predators, not the adults. Right?

Right? *crickets*

@counterpoll: That argument would work if Dennis was related to Mr. Wilson. “Family water-fun” comes off totally different when it’s a 5-7 yo boy and his 60+ NEIGHBOR.

The Maxim version is even creepier, as apparently it’s occurring at Dennis’ house. Mr. Wilson’s got some balls to go there *cough*

“Hey Mr. Wilson, there’s something moving under the water.”

Seriously, when I saw the cartoon, my first thought was, “OMG do they know what they have done?” He is even wearing his mask to be able to see under water.

I wonder if any papers refused to run it.
