Interior designer and talk show host Nate Berkus and model Petra Nemcova both know what it’s like to survive a tsunami: they survived December 2004′s Thailand disaster. Their partners didn’t. Petra was on holiday in Thailand when the waves hit. Nate was in Sri Lanka. It was the last time he saw his boyfriend, photographer Fernando Bengoechea.
