Gay Former Ambassador Up On ‘The Advocate’

advocateguest.jpg
Former ambassador Michael Guest graces The Advocate‘s next issue. Guest retired last month over what he called the State Department’s discriminatory policies. Guest wrote:

For the past three years, I’ve urged the Secretary and her senior management team to redress policies that discriminate against gay and lesbian employees. Absolutely nothing has resulted from this. And so I’ve felt compelled to choose between obligations to my partner — who is my family — and service to my country. That anyone should have to make that choice is a stain on the Secretary’s leadership and a shame for this institution and our country.

The forthcoming Advocate – which hits stands on January 15th – also features an interview with Diane Lane, the reality of living with HIV and a profile on Carson Kressley, whom journo Tricia Romano deems “America’s gay boyfriend.” We’d rather be single.

Even some gay people have bleated, like in that Britney vidoe, “Leave Condit alone!” and that her lesbianism has absolutely nothing to do with her job and is no issue. I have always said otherwise, and this Advocate article bears me out.

That anyone can read Guest’s quote above (“For the past three years, I’ve urged the Secretary and her senior management team to redress policies that discriminate against gay and lesbian employees. Absolutely nothing has resulted from this….”) and STILL somehow cling to the self-denying fiction that is the Log Cabin Republicans is utterly astonishing and very, very sad.

And on the subject of “shames for our country”, yeah — what’s with the ongoing slurpfest over Carson Kressley? He’s not “America’s boyfriend”, he’s “America’s comfy unthreatening gay eunuch stereotype.” Fie on him for the bleating, screeching, mincing, prancing, posturing ick he is.

The Avocado magazine has reached a new pit. Condascending Rice is no Madeleine Albright! With a thin resume based on cold-war USSR pulp fiction, the helmeted Secretary of State is nothing more than the Bush’s Ministry of Propaganda to remind comatose Americans (including Educated-shy Gays like the misspelled ProfessorVP) that the Bush administration is both race and gender friendly for the price of one but only around election time! They tried Karl Rove in a dress but he looked too much like Barbara Bush….in a dress! Dontcha wanna see dat vid-ee-oh, Professor Vermin Promoter (VP for short). It’s Madam Clinton if yo Nasty.

I just got back from Egypt, and people there hated Condi more than George Bush. I heard mixed opinions on Bush (from “he’s retarded” and “he’s Dracula” to “He’s a great man, he’s very strong”), but Condi Rice was universally despised.

For what it’s worth, they also liked Hillary more than Obama.
