Among the menu options for OnSpeedDating.com’s New Year’s gay dating events in NYC: “New gay singles and lesbian dating events events on the OnSpeedDating menu include a ‘Size Matters’ night for for gay men 6’1+, a lesbian ‘Fitness Singles’ event for fit, active and/or athletic lesbian women, ‘Have Passport Will Travel’ night for worldly gay and lesbian singles and a ‘Corporate America’ night for professional gay and lesbian singles.” We also found the one for “Gay Jocks”, and of course, “HOT or NOT” events for gay men and lesbians, where speed daters are pre-screened by judges to meet an attractiveness standard. (But be warned: Only three of five judges need to find your potential one-night stand an 8 thru 10 to be included.) This is what $40 gets ya.
Ugh, honestly I hate the way gay people assign themselves, or the people they are attracted to into groups like that. Also, how does that 6′+ work. What should tall men only date tall men? What if you’re a short guy who only likes tall men, then you’re not invited? And if somebody really is a “jock” maybe they should join a gay rugby or gay soccer team and meet an actual jock…but no, we all know “jocks” means “I work out my vanity muscles, shop and Abercrombie and go tanning”

I simply love how people draw what they are looking to into a box that is about 1″ by 1″ and then bitch and whine and moan about how they are single because they just can’t meet any men out there that they are interested in.
@WillBFair: That would be because those groups don’t need speed dating to hook up because they are the ones in actual long lasting relationships.
@saltydog: They need an Abercrombie night. They could charge 10x the price, put signs that say SpeedDating.com on everyone’s profile and show completely clothed hot twinks.

@saltydog: I mean…I’m 6’4″ and I really only prefer guys above 6’0″. To me, though, compatibility through so many other things is really more important to actually be able to enjoy one’s company, so I’m kind of on the fence with this. I’m not one for speed dating and online cruising and all that stuff anyway.

What a freakin waste…..If I want to hook and or meet, I can step into any bar, set my sights on someone, introduce myself and make conversation……….. I don’t need to pay anyone $40.00 for something I can do very well on my own……….

OK, if you’re tall, dating tall dress the part. No fat shirts on tall, fit guys please. See http://www.longshotapparel.com for shirts that fit the tall, in-shape man!

most gay bars are full of unfit and nasty queens. Which is the reason fit gays avoid them…

Something tells me that the HOT or NOT event will consist of mostly white, athletic, short-haired, clean-cut, fit, and masculine sounding men. Everyone in America knows that these are the most attractive and most sought after kind of men in the country! :)

@Nick I am 6’1 and tend to only date guys 5’10 or taller, but I wouldn’t want to go to a place where there wouldn’t be anybody under 6′. It really just limits your options. I do have one ex that was only 5’7 and he was the second best lover I ever had.

@saltydog: no they would be ignored or and the others would be uncomfortable. And isnt that the only reason to exercise?
@PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS: Yes but how many guys of the type you want that is like you, instead of playing turn down every seven seconds
@tavdy79: Its not that serious, and i just think its an event not the actual site
