  HAPPY FATHER'S DAY?

Having A Gay Dad Is Great, Except For When He’s Married To A Woman

Happy belated Father’s Day, Queertyers! We kinda love the short film above which depicts a gay father’s relationship with his kids, except for one thing…

… his wife.

We assume he loves his wife and that she loves him, but can you imagine their sex lives? They might be in an open marriage, though the film gives no indication of that. And if they’re not, does he close his eyes, grit his teeth, and go missionary everytime he makes sexy with his wife?

Watching it, you almost feel sorry for mom. Forced sex… he’s closer to the kids… he even does a better Diana Ross impression than her.

Don’t get us wrong. We love this compelling short. It actually rings true for many gay dads during an earlier era who felt they had no choice but to marry a woman and do the best they could.

But isn’t it nice that we can now the two Leffew fathers raise their kids in a loving gay relationship rather than separately in the confines of a heterosexual marriage?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen something that managed to be so strange and so heartwarming at the same time.

Loved it. Couldn’t decide if I thought the husband and wife were worse or better off for the whole arrangement, could their lives have been a lot better if he’d been honest and she knew the truth? I suppose like most difficult things in life it simply is as it is. A very good short film I thought.

I was thinking that could have been Barry and Michelle’s life if he hadn’t run for president. You know, that time when he was FOR same-sex marriage equality. Now we’ll never know.
