Homo-Jocko Teens Coming Out

glitterballs2.jpg
As Swedish soccer pro Glenn Hysén takes on homophobia in professional sports, a surprisingly high number of American teens are taking on homophobia in their high schools.

[There's] an emerging generation of openly gay and lesbian athletes on high-school and college campuses across the country. These young men and women are quietly venturing where no active pro football or baseball star has gone, challenging the conformist, if not downright homophobic, tradition of the playing fields.

While some kids continue to face juvenile jabs and one-liners, a refreshing majority of gay teen athletes, it seems, have a place on the team.

Three cheers for kids these days!

“a refreshing majority of gay teen athletes, it seems, have a place on the team.”????

Well, that’s a stretttch! And, unknowable given all the inhibitions, still, to gays generally being open, and certainly younger ones. The closest one could come is, “____% of those teen athletes self-identifying as gay said ______” It’s not the ice you see but the iceberg you don’t.
