SOUNDBITE — “I haven’t got a clue. All I know is that in my case it’s a very sad story. I regret that it happened. But, I’m glad I’ve been through what I’ve been through to take care of it, because in my story it wasn’t about being born gay or being gay. I’ve always had a wonderful relationship with my wife. … [Un]fortunately [the scandal] it was sexual. And unfortunately, it was about the most socially unacceptable type of thing that you can have. But, it was good for me as a heterosexual evangelical Christian, father of five, 30-year husband of Gayle. It was good for me to go through the Christian hatred of people believing that I was a gay man — and hating me so strongly because of it. And so because of it, my compassion for the homosexual community has gone up incredibly.” —Former john and renewed pastor Ted Haggard (via)

“I’ve had a beard for 30 years, but for some reason I have not had facial hair for the same 30 year period”………for some reason that quote was cut from his quote ;-P

Well there is at least some good news here, really, what self respecting gay man would want to have sex with Ted Haggard. This guy is just creepy. So, if his wife wants him, well, bless her heart; just keep him out of the clubs and party circuits.

“I haven’t got a clue.” LMAO You can say that again, Ted.
As for that “I’ve always had a wonderful relationship with my wife….” Wouldn’t you love to lurk in the corner of that poor Christian Stepford’s mind to find out what she REALLY thought of that “wonderful” relationship?

Ted said… “I’ve always had a wonderful relationship with my wife.”
Sure, lots of gay men have great relationships/friendships with a woman. They then go off and sleep with men….which is exactly what you did Ted. The only difference here is that you neglected to tell the women, your wife that you had to close your eyes and think of male hustlers to get through having sex with her.

“In My Story” ?
more like fairytale.
His christian gibberish makes me pity the poor lad and his over adamant smile. Trapped and looking for salvation. Damn.

“the most socially unacceptable type of thing that you can have” – REALLY?
I loved how in the HBO documentary he looked straight at the camera and said “I really don’t want my family to be poor.” Apparently, he’s never read the parts of the Bible with Jesus in them.
NOTICE he talks about the “Christian hatred,” not the “gay hatred.” It’s good that Christians hated him. How utterly, utterly sad.

I would just like to remind Ted that just because he took a dick out of his mouth long enough to speak all of that nonsense, it in no way means that he isn’t a flaming homosexual. That is all.
