It’s Good To Be The Lesbian King

Who says the Homecoming King has to be a guy? Not Hood College. Senior Jennifer Jones, 21, has just been voted the school’s Homecoming King and she couldn’t be happier.

“It is cool that Hood allows people to be themselves,” Jones, of Newark, Del., told The Frederick News-Post. “If people didn’t want me to be king, they wouldn’t have nominated me and voted for me.”

But not everyone at the school was thrilled. Hood itself is said to be reviewing their rules as to who can enter for next year. And some students don’t think it’s fair.

“She is not a man,” said Singleton Newman, a 22-year-old senior who was among the queen candidates. “It is a gender issue, and she is a woman.”

Yeah, well, Elton John ain’t a woman and he’d make a way more fabulous queen than you, missy. Oh, and a note to the Kansas City Star: Not much must be going on in Kansas if you’re filing this under ‘weird news.’ Get out more, people.
