New Episcopal Church leader Bishop Katherine Jefferts Schori spoke to CNN’s Kyra Phillips this afternoon. On the topical agenda? Gays, gays, gay!
Schori’s official position: they’re people too. In a surprisingly rational explanation (for a religious leader), Schori explains that the Bible’s teachings are sometimes outdated; when it comes to food, we long ago abandoned the doctrine. Why shouldn’t the same be done when it comes to gay men and women? (We apologize in advance for the shoddy film quality.)

Wow, she does impress me. Let’s hope she’s a massive religious trend.

Well, good for her.

A great Bishop she will be… she does need to speak out plainly and clearly against African bishop Peter Akinola whose third-world views and un-scripural, un-Christian ideas should be exposed. She should be sure to engage him in debate so that he will be known for the gold digger that he is. Bishops Schori and Gage from D.C. would be a great team against the evolving threat to Christianity that Akinola and other fundamentalists represent and make no mistake, they are a great threat that needs to be taken on with vigor and determination as did Jesus himself against the pharisees for Akinola and others like our own Roberson, Falwell, and Dobson are our modern-day Pharisees. God’s blessing be on her ministry for all people.

….sorry, the name is Chane, Bishop Chane of DC not Gage!

How can you profess to love God and the Episcopal church and cause so much havoc in the church? I love God and my church but if I felt for one minute that I might hurt them I would withdraw without a thought of my personal convictions. I s Bisho Schori gay?
