Kim Davis Loses Yet Again, Won’t Be Named Time’s Person Of The Year

It’s official. Kim Davis is yesterday’s news.

Rowan County’s most notorious clerk was on the short list for Time magazine’s Person of the Year after making national headlines earlier this year when she was jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Time let readers vote for who they thought should be named Person of the Year. Despite a heavy PR push from her lawyers, who urged supporters to vote for her, Davis didn’t even come close to clenching the title.

The antigay right’s media darling came in 55 out of 60 with just 0.6 percent of the vote — behind ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Syrian President Bashar Assad, Kim Kardashian, and Vladimir Putin. And she just narrowly squeaked ahead of antigay Presidential hopeless Ted Cruz.

Not exactly the best company to be in.

If it’s any consolation, Kimmy, Queerty readers voted you the Biggest Douche Of The Year in the 2015 Queerties Awards.
