Larry Flynt: Gays “Bitch and Cry”
Hustler publisher Larry Flynt won’t be voting for Rudy Giuliani come next February. The free speech fighter gets liberal with his surprisingly conservative gay politics over at Vanity Fair.
Apparently Flynt doesn’t approve of Giuliani living with gay friends when he left his wife, Donna. Flynt may be hazy on the facts, but his messages comes out loud and clear:
Let me ask you something. As mayor of New York, would you live in an apartment with three gay guys? I’m not gay. I don’t hate gays. But I don’t want to live in an apartment full of them. They’ll bitch and cry and all. That doesn’t bother Giuliani. It doesn’t bother Giuliani to put a dress on to do Saturday Night Live. I don’t trust him. I don’t think he’s electable.
He’s not electable, yes, but not because he stayed with two gays friends, nor because he wore a dress. Giuliani’s not electable because he is, quite frankly, not believable – a lot like Flynt’s comments.
Flint is a crusty old codger now, and surely bitter about three decades in a wheelchair. Certainly it’s been long enough also to re-work history in his mind and perhaps somehow blame Althea’s death of AIDS on gays.
I hope whatever queen is responsible for changing Flynt’s diaper uses itching powder instead of baby powder. Oh wait–he wouldnt notice.
For some reason, i find this more funny than offensive. i think Flynt is an irascible old fart who likes to talk off the fly. i still like him.
For someone raised in the redneck south and who is from the generation before Stonewall, I think it’s lucky that his attitude towards gays is as non-hateful as it is, especially for a straight pornographer. He was being teasing about stereotypical gay traits, not being anti-gay. He is crotchety and blunt-spoken enough to really be hateful if he felt that way about it…
I am more offended by comments that Chris Crain makes than this.
I wouldn’t want to live with some bitchy gays either and I AM a bitchy gay. I understand what he’s saying.
If what Flynt says is considered homophobic, then Chris Crain would be considered a nazi. Crain has said a lot more viciously anti-gay comments than most of his Republican buddies.
I guess I won’t be buying Inches, Mandate, Torso, Honcho, Playguy, or All Man anymore since Flynt owns them. It will be hard giving up reading Latin Inches.
Larry Flynt has no impulse control and hates Rudy. But I would say that from reading Hustler that he has no problems with gay people or any people, and has fought hard for their right to be left alone.
