Ofcom, sort of a British equivalent of America’s FCC, says it’s got no problem with a kiss between two women on Coronation Street‘s April 9 episode, despite viewer complaints coming in among the millions of viewers who saw it. The episode came 16 years after another British soap already did something so controversial.

I simply can’t wait till Jason comes in here and complains about the liberal bisexual double standard. And how Liberal Hollywood has no problems with female female sensuality and only takes issue with male male sensuality. Woot. Bring it on.

These episodes won’t be shown over here for another year, but I watched the few really important scenes between the two girls on Youtube and I thought that they were surprisingly good and sweet.
Kids need characters and situations like these on TV now. The Queer kids and the straight ones. To show that it’s perfectly normal and that they are not alone if they feel the same.

Why are the viewers so shocked? Coronation Street already had a gay storyline w/ a gay kiss some years back. I think there was even some sex but can’t quite remember.

@cantstandthisbs: Jason-the-anti-lesbian-misogynist was the first thing I thought of two when I saw this.
