Let’s Make Sex More Like Air Travel: Sometimes Tedious And Invasive Before That Sweet Take Off

In New York City, taxpayer dollars are being used to fund an ad campaign to scare homosexual men out of unsafe sex by making them think they’ll get more than HIV, but also anal cancer and dementia. In Russia, a new campaign for HIV prevention group LaSky is taking a different approach, with these two spots trying to be clever and educational at the same time. Is a hockey helmet metaphor going to remind you to buckle up before getting down? Not for everyone. But more relatable imagery is gonna go a lot further in resonating with your intended audience.

(Our headline is a bit of a misnomer, airport security protocols are notoriously easy to circumvent and have yet to ever catch a terrorist, while using a condom will, in all but the rarest of circumstances, keep you safe.)

personally, I thought they could have it being more intimate, for one thing you don’t have sex with your pant and shirt on; not like it’s in a public place…

@Yuriy: LaSky was launched by Russia’s Center for Social Development and Information. It’s definitely not a mainstream effort, a government-affiliated one at that. One day…
