OH SNAP — Some have called it “off the rack at David’s Bridal,” while others have insisted it was “elderly chic.” But we think Meryl Streep looked just divine on the red carpet of last night’s Oscars, in a gown designed by costume designing queen Chris March of Project Runway fame.

I liked it, she was dressing for who she was and it worked. If anybody looked ridiculous it was Mylie Cyrus trying to wear what looked like her mothers or older sisters dress.
MDThom
I think this is the best she has looked in years.
Tricky
Ms. Streep has been to the Oscars so many times and denied Almost as many. She should be able to wear her housecoat at this point.

Why diss Chris March, one of us with “Oscar snub”?????? You give him props in the text but diss him in the headline. The dress is perfect for her, she looks great and definatley chose the correct designer
Ankhorite
Streep is, as always, perfect. The jewels, the shoes, the PERFECT clutch all go with this perfect dress.
This was a dress to be seen in, and one of my regrets that she didn’t win Best Actress is that I therefore didn’t get a better look at this dress.
(My other regret is that there could only be ONE Best Actress winner, because the nominees were so good, it was hard to choose among them.)

Great job Chris!
Meryl looked beautiful!!

Well it`s certainly an improvement over
what she use to wear….

Let`s face it …Gays talking fashion arn`t exactly breaking new frontiers….
Mike
I thought she looked fantastic. And she was robbed of the award. Bullock? Seriously?

Meryl looked great. Chris March has dressed her once before, per links from the Daily Beast. Project Runway has another star in its alumni group!
Watercooler talk today at work was that the dress was a solid A, but 40% thought she should have worn some neck candy! I’m with the 60% who think simple is best. No need for a necklace….

She looked fantastic! The woman is 60 years old. She doesn’t belong in some kind of overwrought half-nekkid nightgown or hootchie-mama clubwear.

Me being politically correct: Meryl is always gracious in defeat.
Me being realistic, yet snarky: I bet she burns photos of Judi Dench, Helen Mirren and Sandra Bullock every night before bed.
Me being oddly-for-me bisexual: Damn, she is hot! [Jason has yet to weigh in on the matter…]
terrwill
@Lukas P.: You dare risk the wrath of Jason??? You are very brave man Lukas-san………
: p
Lukas P.
@terrwill: That’s because Lukas-san is better at verbal judo than Jason, and not desperately trying to prove I’m bisexual. Plus, claiming to be bisexual would SO disappoint my parents! [ok, not really on that last part]
Viva la Diva Streep!

Streep looked awesome. Kudos to March. And, yes, she was robbed (again).

Meryl always dresses like she’s going to a PTA Award dinner. And I like Meryl. But she’s not about high fashion – never has been.
rollo thomassi
Ms. Streep looked fantastic! Age appropriate, stylish, classic, timeless, etc. Next year’s stars and celebs would be well suited (no pun intended) to get his card.
benlayvey
I will watch her in ANYTHING! I repeat ANYTHING!
romeo
Love Meryl. She’s about the last of our great actors that can really get into a character. Like the dress, but a pearl gray would have worked better. With her coloring it would have been dynamite.
romeo
and more slimming. (Sorry, Meryl. Hit the ab machine. You’re glamor girl days aren’t over yet, sweetie!).
mike
OK, to every person who likes Meryl’s “bath robe” dress … your Gay Card is now rescinded.
romeo
It’s not bad as a formal type dress for “a woman of a certain age.” LOL Just didn’t care for the refrigerator white.
