NOM And FRC Worried That Chaz Bono Will Impeach George Washington

Just when we thought that everyone had stopped freaking out over Chaz Bono Dancing With The Stars, in come the Family Research Council and the National Organization for Marriage disseminating a Power Point presentation to California churches warning parents that if the FAIR Education Act teaches your kids about famous LGBTs in the classroom, not only will they turn gay but they’ll start learning about a transgender C-list celebrity instead of the First President of the United States—or as Jeremy Hooper calls him “a man who wore a powdered wig and flowy capes.”

Fun fact: NOM and the FRC apparently broke the artist’s copyright agreement by using Arnold Friberg’s image of George Washington without permission. Be sure to ask Friberg to prosecute this blatant example of copyright infringement by contacting them at (800) 783-1256. It’s the American thing to do.

i learned about straight people and it didn’t turn me straight.

straight kids who are not trans are not going to be confused. the only “confusion” comes to LGBT kids who are taught either that they dont’ exist, or that they’re sick and evil. oh, and the non-LGBT kids are taught to hate LGBT, or perceived-LGBT, classmates.

hey gays, did the rest of you grow up in an overwhelmingly heterosexual environment too? yeah. i thought so. wonder why we’re still gay then…

@Little Kiwi: I blame the breeders. They’re the ones who keep making gay babies.

Baron Steuben was the gay, brilliant military strategist without whom the American side would not likely have won the Revolution against the British. Steuben’s military strategy book remained in use in the U.S. military for decades. Additionally, it’s preposterous to say that learning about Chaz Bono will keep students from learning about George Washington. What we might remind students of, apropos of Washington is that he ratified a Constitution that forbid his own wife the vote. She could have transitioned like Chad and she still would not have had the vote. And oh after the Constitution was ratified, Jews did not have the vote. Neither could white men who didn’t own property. By all means; let’s learn more about George Washington.

It looks like they broke most of the copyright agreement. Section 3 (they cropped it) and section 4 (promoting a political agenda), as well as section 5 and 6. If they did get permission then those guys aren’t holding up their own policy.

Shouldn’t we have more George Washington and more Chaz Bono? Increase teh school day to 8 hours. Make it six days a week. There’s more than enough to learn; learn it all.

The fact that Chaz Bono is their idea of a historical queer figure just proves why we need LGBTQ history in classrooms.

      “Alan Turing? Who’s that?” 8(
