As California’s queers enjoy marriage, Tasmanian politico Nick Mckim has introduced legislation that would green light same-sex nuptials in his state. Said Mckim: “This is about tolerance and it’s about respect and those are values that I believe most Tasmanians would share and if we’re fair dinkum about removing discrimination in this state we should give all Tasmanians access to the fundamental institutions of our society, including marriage.” [ABC]

Tasmania is not a nation. What is it with Amricans — why are you so clueless about the rest of the world?

Andy, you’re going to be mad at me, because I didn’t even remember where Tasmania was located. Geography has never been a strong suit of mine.
Danny the Tranny
It’s part of Australia. It’s an Island just to the South. No 1 is correct. I’m an American and I agree. Most of us need geography lessons.
fredo777
Yeah, I found out where it was after I read the blog post.
Wikipedia (and Google) are convenient.

Guess you failed geography along with French. Um, if you’re going to write a blog and be online all the time, I’ll give you a hint: It’s called Google. And Wikipedia. There’s nothing wrong with not knowing something. There’s something very wrong with writing about something and being too lazy to do a 1-minute search of proper facts & usage. Please stop insulting your readers.
