NYC Cop Shoots Girlfriend Twice Over Text Message
Ekeythia Dunston, a New York City cop, says she fired two bullets from her police-issued revolver at her girlfriend Erica Legall in self-defense after Legall allegedly attacked her with an iron during a fight over a text message Legall received. The shots entered Legall’s thigh and shoulder. Dunston, who was suspended without pay and charged with assault, weapons possession (!), and endangering the welfare of a child, “was treated for an iron-induced head injury at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.” Legall is also expected to be charged. They’ve been together for give years and have two sons. [NYDN, NYP]
