Certified bigot Michael Savage, whose radio show is an exercise in not lobbying to cancel the First Amendment, and Fred Phelps, the “preacher” behind “God Hates Fags” outpost the Westboro Baptist Church, will be denied entry according to a newly updated blacklist. Guardian: “Jacqui Smith, the home secretary, said she decided to make public the names of 16 people banned since October for fostering extremism so others could better understand the behaviour Britain was not prepared to tolerate.”

Thank god. It’s time we did something like this in our own country. But I guess they are citizens; nonetheless, it would be great if my state of Illinois would ban them.

@epluribusunumjk: You’re right, it is time we did something like this: we need to blacklist all the illegal immigrants pouring into our country by securing the border.

It’s probably worth mentioning that (to my knowledge) all sixteen of the above have, at some point of other, said things which would break the UK’s hate-speech laws, which are surprisingly restricted in scope. It could be argued that the ban on them entering the UK is to prevent the possibility that the British government will have to pay for their incarceration if/when they break the law while here.

I was very surprised to see that Scott Liveley, founder of Watchmen on the Walls, was not on the list.

It is said that one can be judged by the company one keeps, and looking at this list, Savage and Phelps are in perfect company.
Thugs, assholes, violence proponents, and mentally unbalanced misfits, all…

Anyone else misread the headline as “Michael Phelps and Fred Savage” for a moment?

here in europe we don`t wanna have those people, especially the phelps clan who thanks god for the shooting of winnenden because it is god´s answer to our liberation of homosexuality. By the way we are also still fighting for equal rights of gay marriage.

These two guys were also Blacklisted in Australia. Especially the Phelps fucks. They wanted to protest outside of Heath Ledger’s funeral due to Brokeback Mountain. That of course didn’t go over very well.

Some of you are signing your own arrest warrants by denigrating Phelps and Savage and by agreeing with the Brits to ban them. You see, when FASCIST governments begin banning certain SPEECH, you can be certain that eventually the FASCISTS in government will come for the HOMOSEXUALS. Study history. Stalin (a bisexual) rounded up homosexuals and so did Hitler; both outlawed free speech and Stalin made it illegal to criticize Jews. (That was because most of the Bolsheviks were Jews; Stalin later slaughtered most of these Jews who helped him violently take over Russia.) If you refuse to support free speech for ALL–especially including speech you disagree with–then you can be certain, your free speech will be taken away at some point.
