Reality Show Revolves Around Trans Love

calpernia_pic-1.jpg
Reality television’s about to get a hot trans injection!

MTV-owned Logo announced they’ll air a series called Transamerican Love Story, which stars trans actress, Calpernia Addams.

Calpernia Addams, a transgender activist, artist, actress and author, will be the prize in the Bachelor-like competition, which pits eight men against each other as they struggle to win her affection. The show, which has already been filmed, will air in February 2008 on LOGO, 365Gay’s parent company.

“I’m so thrilled about the whole experience. I kept asking myself, what if I find someone amazing? ” Addams said.

Britain’s Sky One aired a similar show, There’s Something About Miriam, but neglected to tell contestants of Miriam’s “something”.

Logo executive Brian Graden dismisses criticism that he and his are using Addams as a “stunt”: “These shows advance Logo’s continuing mission to not only explore the diversity of people in our community but also the diverse lives they lead.”

Addams’ story definitely deserves to be told: the Nashville-native came of age in a strictly religious household and later joined the Navy, for which she worked during the first Gulf War. So, basically, she’s one hot mama.

I have interviewed this chick and she is very cool. I think there was a movie based on part of her life.

“Soldier’s Girl” I think is the name of the movie about her and her boyfriend. He was in the military and was murdered in a hate crime by his fellow soldiers at Ft. Knox.

Jack Jett: what fucking kind of interviewer are you if you can’t even do a background check? LOSER. Calpernia and her lover formed the basis of the move “Soldier’s Girl”.

if you did indeed interview her… such a sad example of professional journalism…do your fucking homework.

IF JJ interviewed her and “thinks” there was a movie based on her life… really sad commentary on the state of “gay journalism”

Soldier’s Girl is the name of the movie, but it happened at Fort Campbell, KY (not Fort Knox).

Watching “Soldier’s Girl” is the docudrama that got me started fighting for Human Rights in the USA. Take a silent stroll in the cemetaries of Arlington, Virginia and at Normandy, France and look at the never-ending rows of hundred of thousands of white crosses and stars of David and contemplate on how many among these brave and honorable souls were “gays” servicemen, who laid down their lives for their country. Sadly in the USA bigotry and homo-odium are still rampant. The “Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell” law must be rescinded and gay people should be able to be accepted and respected as equals and serve openly in the US Armes Forces.
