Everyone’s favorite kiki partners, the Scissor Sisters, are breaking up, at least for a while. During their show at Camden Roundhouse, frontman Jake Shears announced, “This will be the last time we will play in London for quite some time.”
The Sisters, however, are not calling it completely quits. “Don’t you worry,” Shears told Gigwise, “this isn’t the last you’ve heard of us.”
The band is not planning on returning to the studio to record a follow-up to this year’s Magic Hour, as guitarist Del Marquis works on a solo project, leading lady Ana Matronic finishes a comic book and Shears hopefully continues to tweet half-naked pictures of himself.
The band played an extended set as a thank you to the London audience, whom Matronic credited as “the ones who got us first – and always get us best.”
How about we take this to the next level?

Wrong time to hiatus..they are needed more than ever!..

A fairly standard contract in the record industry is “Five albums”, which is often taken to be “Four albums and a Greatest Hits compilation”.
They’ve had four albums, so I expect we’ll see a greatest hits compilation now to complete their contract. And the fact that they’re going on “hiatus” makes me think that they won’t be renewing their contract with their record label.
Let’s hope they find a new record label that encourages more “Let’s have a kiki” and less “Secret life of letters” (which they didn’t even write, and is probably only there due to record label interference).

Mmmmm BUH bye. They started out dull as a pair of Crayola kids’ scissors. And that stoooopid kiki song was the end. Good riddance. Make room for better music.
